연아 파이팅!

If you haven’t already heard, the 4 Continents Figure Skating Championships (4CC) started today. The Ladies’ Short is tonight at 9:15 P.M. (less than 3 hours from now) and Yuna is scheduled to skate third to last!

Now, what is Yuna fighting for? She’s not! It’s just the Korean way of cheering on a person or team.

The definition and pronunciation of 파이팅 is the same = Fighting. It can also be written as 화이팅, pronounced slightly different, hwaiting, but means the same.

Usually the name of the person you are cheering for comes before. In our case, we’re saying 김연아 파이팅! It translates to Yuna Kim, fighting!

ㅎㅎㅎ That’s all for today! I’ve got to prepare for the SP tonight!

Oh, what does ㅎㅎㅎmean? It’s similar to ㅋㅋㅋ. It’s Korean internet lingo for laughter.is a consonant in the Korean alphabet and pronounced with an H sound. Three ‘s is similar to saying hahaha or hehehe.

ㅎㅎNow it’s really time to leave. Good luck tonight, Yuna! 연아 파이팅!

Praying for Yuna to do well!
